Sarah Alperin, Founder, President
Sarah Alperin has always been passionate about creating spaces where both people and nature thrive. When the pandemic forced her to close her beloved play-based preschool, she transformed loss into purpose, founding The Little Village Gardens Non Profit to bring native gardens to K-12 schools—ensuring children could continue to learn, explore, and connect with the natural world.
With a background in early childhood development, sustainability, and emotional well-being, Sarah believes that education should extend beyond the classroom into nature itself. Her passion for restoring native habitats is deeply personal, rooted in the understanding that a child’s connection to the environment shapes their well-being, curiosity, and resilience.
For over a decade, Sarah has worked at the intersection of emotional intelligence, somatic therapy, and transformative learning, coaching leaders toward balance and purpose. A former Disney designer, she understands how to create immersive, inspiring experiences—skills she now applies to shaping outdoor learning environments. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Social Emotional Learning and holding a Master’s in Transformative Learning, she blends science, psychology, and hands-on education to cultivate resilience, curiosity, and belonging in every child.
For Sarah, this work isn’t just about planting gardens—it’s about restoring balance between people and nature, education and experience, growth and well-being. Sarah believes in the power of people and is committed to providing opportunities for communities to come together to ignite change.
